The prices of television screens go up in coming months
For Digital Future | September 8, 2008
After years of growth, the leading manufacturers of LCD and plasma screens have left a surplus of stock because of overly optimistic projections of departing.
It was thought that major sporting events like Euro 2008 and the Olympics would cause a huge demand for TV screens during the summer, but stagnant economies around the world has stopped far short of expectations.
This has caused a drop in the price of flat panel displays highly charged. Low demand, or at least well below the expected, and excess stock have clearly benefited consumers. Especially during the month of August this fall in prices has been very clear.
However, the production cuts, combined with the liquidation of inventories and a recovery in demand for TVs, PC monitors and Pocket PC's lead to a change in supply and demand which will again be at a level expected by the Manufacturers from the 4th quarter of the year.
The prices of flat panel displays, monitors and laptop computers were reduced from four to seven per cent during the month of May and June, from 3 to 15% in July, and up to 20% in August. This has helped acquire these electronic devices at a price slightly above the cost price in many cases.
And here the conclusion, if you want to buy television screens at a very low price, or any device in which the screen is a very important element, not wait till Christmas, prices will rebound gradually. Now is the perfect time to buy televisions, once the surplus, and companies with production geared to the demand, prices do not drop and may even increase. Now is the best time to get the best value for money.
