    Google problems in Germany

    For Digital Future | October 1, 2008

Google is very popular in Germany, according to this search engine accounts for 79'8% of the market. Other services offered by Google are also widely used but not without controversial aspects.

For example, Google Street View shows a high resolution important part of Germany, but there is a barrier in the city of Molfsee.

Reinhold Harwart, the leader of the Christian Democratic Union in the City, want the option "In view of the street" was not available in Molfsee. The reason is that you can see all these pictures and is a privileged lookout for criminals who want to steal home.

This view is not unique to this policy, there are important members who agree with this problem in Google Street View. Besides the warning, the detractors of the virtual access to various online communities have a plan to prevent Google from shooting the streets. The plan is to require a permit to use the streets and therefore denied for these purposes.

If Google goes ahead with the coverage of "A street light in Molfsee, it is easy for the company lost a court case as was the case with Gmail. If Google bid to respect the law, other towns and cities around the world could also decide whether or not to appear in "Google Street View."

Here, as deĆca, joins another appeared earlier this past summer, the event called Gmail. Gmail in Germany is not available as such but with the name of Google Mail to lose a lawsuit over a German company owned by Daniel Giersch.

Tourists to Gmail would like in your country, are greeted with the message: "We can not provide service under the Gmail name in Germany, which is nuetro service is now called Google Mail when you're traveling in Germany, you can access your mail in Gmail http://mail.google.com.

German Giersch began using the name G-mail in 2000 in its own mail service "G-mail ... und die Post geht richtig ab." Google did not begin its mail service until 2004.

Google thought it could win the Gmail name in Germany, but in 2006 a court found in favor of Giersch forcing Google to remove all references to its Gmail service in Germany. But this is not the only case that Google has lost by name Gmail.

As Google grows these problems are increasing. The most active Internet users have always defined Microsoft as the "devil", can now Google and this is a much more controversial. The right to privacy is the only thing that can still fight large companies and monopolies.
