The PageRank of a page is a parameter that tells us the importance of a particular website per Google. PageRank performs an objective assessment of the importance of web pages by solving an equation of more than 500 million variables and 2,000 million terms. Instead of counting direct links, PageRank interprets a link from page A to B as a vote for Page B by the A. Then, acknowledging the importance of the page in question by counting the number of votes received.
This technology also takes into account the importance of each page that makes a vote, given that some of the votes are considered of greater value, thus increasing the value of the page with that link. Important pages receive a higher PageRank and are among the first results. Google's technology uses the collective intelligence of the Internet to determine the importance of a page. The results are determined without human intervention or manipulation.
The PageRank determines the frequency googlebot that the visit a website for scanning. The googlebot is a tracker that will follow all the links on a Web site (provided they are not like "nofollow"). The higher the PR, the page will be scanned more often.
PageRank also determines the depth of scanning a website. The higher the PR of a web crawler will scan the Web page more deeply. By using Google Sitemaps does not guarantee that a site is scanned entirely, if a high PageRank.
The PageRank is one of the factors that determine the position of a web page result of a Google search. The PageRank of each web page is recalculated once a month (approximately). The updates usually start the weekend and last about four days, during which are updated each of the Datacenters (updating a single data server can last hours or days). In this period is called Google Dance and ends when the datacenters are synchronized.
The real PageRank of a page is not a value between 0 and 10, is a big number, sometimes very big that you can hang the hundreds of thousands, but it has its equivalent from 0 to 10 which is the outcome that is displayed on the bar browser. The PageRank of the bar of the browser and also indicate that many websites are updated quarterly.
The main page (home) inherits the PageRank of other pages on the Site. This is very useful and very important to have pages within a site makes the whole website increase its level of PageRank.
Finally it is important to note that if a web of low PageRank is not to say that what really miss. Many variables involved in this issue, and also the number of websites on the Internet. Each time the network grows more, it requires a greater number of links to get a PageRank of the bar of the browser, but the
PageRank before making the conversion, which is the value that Google is the same.
The PageRank is valid only for Google, other search engines use their own parameters of websites.
